With 18 years in the helping profession, Jennifer has spent her career working with people looking to experience a positive change in their lives. She has been employed in many diverse settings including hospitals, schools, and treatment centers, as well as private and nonprofit settings in both Canada and the United States. She obtained her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University which has further provided her with the opportunity to support people of all ages and backgrounds identify and reach their ideal. Jennifer believes individuals can reach their goals of overcoming life’s stressors and obstacles by gaining skills of healthy coping through a supportive, caring, collaborative, and responsive therapeutic relationship. She is an advocate for self-care and mindfulness which is often left behind in the hustle and bustle of life.  Jennifer's own self-care includes spending time with her family, walking her dogs, cooking and traveling.

Karing Holmes Dog Boarding & Training / K9 Handing

Kari has had a life time passion for dogs and has utilized that passion into a boarding and training facility located in Red Deer County. She specializes in large breed dog, as well as Animal Assisted Therapy. Kari has experience and has taken seminars or courses on: canine obedience and behavior management, canine nutrition, pet first aid, tracking, protection, herding, gun dog and scent detection. While Kari participates in many of these activities herself, she is happy to refer you to an appropriate trainer for many of them. Her true passion for training lies in her board and train program, and helping other reach their therapy dog, emotional support dog and service dog goals. Kari has a three year old German Shepherd named Vandal, who is a government certified service dog under the Alberta Service Dogs Act. She is working toward the goal of participating in Rally -O and competition obedience. 

Kelsey Boettcher - Alberta K9

Kelsey channeled her life-long passion for working dogs into a career as a private-sector patrol and drug-detection canine handler. In 2016, she transitioned primarily into training, and completed the full-time immersion program at the prestigious Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers in Santa Rosa, California. Kelsey frequently participates in continuing education opportunities throughout Canada, the USA, and Europe. She holds her patrol canine handler licence through the Government of Alberta, and is a member of the International Working Dog Breeding Association, the Canadian Kennel Club, and the Canine Accelerant Detection Association. She is a volunteer leader of Canine 4H, and a speaker at local schools. Kelsey has successfully trained and certified numerous drug-detection, accelerant-detection, and patrol canines - in addition to regularly competing and titling in CKC rally & obedience events.

The INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CANINE PROFESSIONALS is dedicated to the education, development and support of dog training professional world-wide. The IACP provides a community where experienced dog trainers mentor, guide and cultivate members to their full potential. Our commitment to the highest quality training increases our members’ skills and abilities, develops professional recognition and improves communication on training best practices. We support our members’ rights to properly use and promote effective, humane training tools and methods to create success for each dog and owner, while expanding the understanding and cooperation among canine professionals and dog owners across the full spectrum of the canine industry.

In achieving these aims through education and training, the IACP works actively to reduce cruelty and abuse to canine partners.

Association of Balanced Dog Trainers

Our core belief is that in order to have a happy, safe and balanced dog it must get not only love and affection, but also have rules and boundries. These rules and boundries come from a place of love, because they prevent unwanted behviour and keep the dog safe in the human world.
